Bonner is now the Utah State record holder for touchdown passes in a single season.

Logan Bonner has secured a place in the Utah State record books, and he beat Jordan Love to do it.

The Aggies’ graduate transfer quarterback is now the school record holder for touchdown passes in a single season, breaking the record set by Love — now with the Green Bay Packers — in 2018.

A 5-yard strike to Derek Wright in the second quarter of the Mountain West Conference championship game against No. 19 San Diego State on Saturday broke the record, giving Bonner 33 touchdown passes this year. (Love threw 32 touchdown passes during his breakout sophomore season).

Bonner has helped lead Utah State to one of the most successful seasons in program history, and entering the conference title game he had completed 228 of 377 (.605) pass attempts for 3,236 yards (269.7 yards per game) with 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

He is only the sixth player in school history to throw for 3,000 yards (3,236) in a single season, the fifth-most in school history. Before the title bout with the Aztecs, Bonner was 331 yards behind Love, who holds the school record with 3,567 yards in a single season.
