A Washtenaw County prosecutor filed a lawsuit to briefly halt events hosted by the fraternity Delta Tau Delta at Jap Michigan College after 15 sexual assaults had been reported since 2014.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, says the fraternity in Ypsilanti has created a public nuisance. It was filed collectively by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Workplace and Ypsilanti officers, based on MLive.com.

"We try to handle what are very harmful situations which have been related to partying and alcohol consumption at that fraternity," Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit instructed The Detroit Information.

"We detailed 15 reported sexual assaults since 2014 that both occurred at events or following events on the Delta Tau Delta fraternity home in addition to different sexual assault-adjacent incidents," Savit stated.

Savit stated the adjoining incidents embrace indecent publicity, sexual harassment, and bodily abuse of romantic companions, based on The Detroit Information.
