Former president Donald Trump has praised the Republican Nationwide Committee for censuring two GOP lawmakers for his or her participation on the committee investigating the lethal January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol.

The RNC voted to censure Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois at a gathering in Salt Lake Metropolis on Friday and accused the lawmakers of collaborating in a "Democrat-led persecution of strange residents engaged in reliable public discourse" within the censure decision.

In an announcement on Saturday, Trump congratulated the RNC for the ruling and described Cheney and Kinzinger as "two horrible RINOs [Republicans In Name Only]."

"Congratulations to the Republican Nationwide Committee (RNC) and its Chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel, on their nice ruling in censuring Liz Cheney and Cryin' Adam Kinzinger, two horrible RINOs who put themselves forward of our Nation."

He added that the lawmakers "have virtually no approval scores, and the Republican Get together can be much better off with out them!"

Cheney and Kinzinger have been contacted for remark.

The lawmakers, each outspoken critics of Trump, earlier hit again on the RNC for characterizing the lethal assault on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters making an attempt to disrupt the certification of President Joe Biden's election victory as "reliable political discourse."

"This was January sixth," Cheney stated in a tweet alongside footage from the riot on Friday. "This isn't 'reliable political discourse.'"

Kinzinger tweeted a CAPTCHA picture utilizing an image from the riot that requested viewers to "choose all squares with reliable political discourse." The congressman tagged Home Republican chief Kevin McCarthy, writing: "What do you say Kevin?"

Kinzinger, who has chosen to not search reelection within the midterms later this yr, stated on Thursday: "I've no regrets about my choice to uphold my oath of workplace and defend the Structure. I'll proceed to focus my efforts on standing for reality and dealing to combat the political matrix that is led us to the place we discover ourselves as we speak."

In the meantime, a number of outstanding Republicans excoriated their occasion for the censure, together with Sen. Mitt Romney.
