Traffic blocked both ways once again at Alberta border crossing, RCMP says

COUTTS, ALTA. --
Anti-vaccine mandate protesters are as soon as once more stopping site visitors from passing by the Coutts border crossing in southern Alberta.

Alberta RCMP tweeted late Monday night that each north and southbound lanes on the crossing on Freeway 4 had been blocked by the demonstration and requested motorists to keep away from the realm.

Vehicles and different automobiles started parking on the freeway close to Coutts on Feb. 5 in solidarity with related protests in Ottawa and throughout the nation over COVID-19 vaccine mandates for cross-border truck drivers and broader public well being measures.

One blockade turned two when a second one appeared additional up the freeway.

The deadlock stranded travellers and cross-border truckers for days, compromised thousands and thousands of dollars in commerce and impeded entry to primary items and medical companies for space residents.

Final week, protesters agreed to open a single lane in every course for site visitors and so truckers may haul cargo throughout the border.
