A girl was attacked by a shark after getting blown about 650 toes out to sea on a rubber ring, with the predator knocking her from the float as onlookers watched on in horror.

The assault occurred on February 6 close to to the city of Esperance in south-west Australia, near the scene of two earlier deadly shark assaults.

A witness described seeing a path of blood within the water as the girl swam in direction of shore holding her aspect.
