Report: Wanted Norwegian al-Qaida member held in Yemen

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK --
A Norwegian citizen who grew to become a member of al-Qaida in Yemen has been arrested in Yemen by the nation's Iran-backed Houthi rebels, Norwegian broadcaster NRK mentioned Monday.


In response to the report, Anders Cameroon Ostensvig Dale is being held in a hospital in Sanaa. He's sought at dwelling on suspicion of terrorism and was placed on a blacklist by the US.


Norwegian prosecutor Haris Hrenovica with the Norwegian safety service PST mentioned the suspect's hospital detention "makes us imagine that there's an damage." It was unclear when and the way he was apprehended and there was no fast affirmation from the Houthis.


The broadcaster mentioned Ostensvig Dale transformed to Islam in 2008 and visited Yemen a number of instances earlier than finally becoming a member of al-Qaida's department there, generally known as Al-Qaida within the Arabian Peninsula.
