On Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed laws that might ban abortions after 15 weeks of being pregnant.

"We're right here immediately to guard life. We're right here immediately to defend those that cannot defend themselves," DeSantis stated Thursday morning at a church in Kissimmee, Florida.

DeSantis stated that the laws "protects the rights of unborn kids beginning at 15 weeks."

"This can be a time the place these infants have beating hearts, they will transfer, they will style, they will see, they will really feel ache, they will suck their thumbs, and so they have mind waves," DeSantis stated. "It will symbolize probably the most important protections for all times which were enacted on this state for a technology."

Previous to the brand new regulation, Florida allowed abortions till 24 weeks. Florida's Republican-controlled legislature accepted the 15-week abortion ban final month.
