Amber Heard admits that she lashed out verbally at ex-husband Johnny Depp and would attempt to struggle again in self-defense.

Heard, who's being sued by Depp for defamation after she wrote an op-ed in 2018 in The Washington Publish claiming to be a sufferer of home abuse, took the witness stand on Wednesday and once more on Thursday, testifying many particulars of the actors' turbulent marriage.

Heard's testimony has included many accusations that Depp was bodily and verbally abusive, and on Thursday, the actress admitted that she would generally struggle again.

"I attempted to face up for myself by December 2014," Heard started. "I used to be pushing again, I pushed him off me and tried to hit his arms away, and attempt to at all times get again up which might generally, not generally, nearly at all times made it worse."

"I'd yell at him and scream at him and name him ugly names," she mentioned. "So ashamed of the names we would name one another. It was terrible."

She added, "We each acquired into that sample. I used to be so offended that that is taking place to me and it simply felt so unfair, you already know?"

Heard has testified within the final two days that Depp struggled with heavy drug and alcohol use, which contributed to his abusive conduct. "It felt like nothing I might do would change the sobriety patterns, and nothing I did made him cease hitting me," she mentioned on Thursday.

The couple was married for roughly 15 months, however their entanglement has endured for a number of years. Regardless of Heard's claims, Depp has defended that he "by no means" hit her.

Each Depp and Heard have testified that the opposite was bodily abusive throughout their relationship, and medical psychologist and the pair's marriage counselor, Laurel Anderson, described in a video deposition within the trial that the couple engaged in "mutual abuse."

On Thursday, Heard testified, "I attempted for over a yr, perhaps two, simply not responding bodily, not responding verbally, simply looking at him. I attempted to freeze, I attempted to go to a special place. I'd attempt then lashing out verbally, I'd attempt to threaten that if he hit me once more that I'd name the police."

She concluded, "I believe by this level in our relationship, we're each saying terrible issues to one another, screaming at one another. And sadly, when Johnny would begin hitting me, he'd simply win."
