The parents who hand out Tony Awards consider 5 is just not sufficient for Angela Lansbury.
The Tony Awards Administration Committee introduced Monday that the legendary actor will obtain a 2022 particular Tony for lifetime achievement within the theater, making it her sixth.
Lansbury made her Broadway debut in 1957 in "Lodge Paradiso" and received Tonys for "Mame" in 1966, "Expensive World" in 1969, "Gypsy" in 1974, "Sweeney Todd" in 1979 and "Blithe Spirit" in 2009. Different Broadway credit embody "A Little Night time Music," "Gore Vidal's The Greatest Man" and "Anybody Can Whistle."
"Angela Lansbury's contributions to the stage are insurmountable," stated Charlotte St. Martin, president of The Broadway League and Heather Hitchens, president and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, stated in a press release.
