IN PICTURES: Statue of baseball legend Fergie Jenkins unveiled at Wrigley Field in Chicago

Canadian baseball legend Fergie Jenkins was honoured by the Chicago Cubs Friday with the revealing of a brand new statue at Wrigley Discipline.

The Chatham-born Corridor of Fame pitcher now has his personal bronze statue alongside ‘Statue Row’ in a brand new part of the Chicago ballpark.

“Alongside a bunch of my teammates,” Jenkins informed CTV Information throughout a go to to his hometown final month. “My roommate Ernie Banks, and teammates Billy Williams and Ron Santo. Jenkins was born in Chatham in 1942.

Jenkins had a legendary profession with the Cubs, happening to win a Cy Younger Award and file six straight 20-win seasons in Chicago.

He's one in every of two Canadian-born Corridor of Famers and was Canada’s first main league baseball participant to be inducted into the Corridor of Fame.

He pitched 18 seasons within the majors and gathered greater than 3,000 strikeouts.
