Fireplace officers say a person was severely burned in an incident that occurred within the kitchen of a northeast Calgary dwelling on Sunday afternoon.
The Calgary Fireplace Division responded to a house within the 100 block of Falsby Street N.E. and located a number of occupants of the house exterior.
They informed firefighters there had been a hearth within the kitchen and that one individual had been burned and was nonetheless inside the house.
"On entry, crews positioned the injured occupant and introduced the mid-30s male to security," CFD stated in a launch.
"Crews had been ready to make sure that the hearth was extinguished and carried out a search of the rest of the dwelling."
Fireplace officers say the person suffered burns to his fingers, legs and arms that had been seemingly precipitated when he had tried to take away a burning pot of cooking oil from the range.
A second individual was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, however nobody else was injured within the incident.
Harm was restricted to the kitchen and range space, with minor smoke harm in the remainder of the house.
