An assault in Vancouver's CRAB Park Saturday morning has left one man useless, in response to the Vancouver Police Division.
In a press release Sunday afternoon, police mentioned they had been referred to as to the park round 10:20 a.m.
When first responders arrived they discovered 45-year-old Andrew Wadden with life threatening accidents, in response to police.
"Regardless of life-saving efforts by VPD, BC Ambulance Providers and Vancouver Hearth and Rescue Service, Wadden died on the scene," says Const. Tania Visintin.
"Eric Kim, 26, has been charged with second diploma homicide," she added.
The stabbing occurred close to CRAB Park seaside, roughly 100 metres from the homeless encampment within the park.
Fiona York, an advocate for the CRAB Park encampment, mentioned Wadden is thought within the space.
”The group is feeling the loss. Andrew and his spouse have many mates and intensive household and a large group right here at CRAB Park and within the space, who're all impacted, and plenty of of whom are already devastated by grief and violence, which incorporates systemic violence and the opioid disaster. We hope there's an finish to this cycle and our ideas are along with his household,” York wrote in a press release to CTV Information.
Photos from the scene Saturday confirmed quite a few law enforcement officials on the park's entrance and blockading close by streets. A small white tent had been arrange behind the warning tape.
