Over 2,000 pounds of pot hidden as 'foam pool toys' seized at Detroit-Windsor border

U.S. Customs and Border Safety officers seized greater than a ton of marijuana labelled “foam pool toys” on the cargo facility on the Ambassador Bridge.

CBP officers say the illicit cargo was seized together with the tractor trailer on the Fort Road Cargo Facility on Might 11.

An x-ray scan of the inbound truck and subsequent bodily inspection carried out by officers and a Okay-9 staff revealed 2,175 kilos of marijuana hid inside packing containers manifested as foam pool toys, in keeping with a CBP launch.

“This seizure underscores CBP’s lengthy standing dedication to the border safety mission,” stated port director Devin Chamberlain. “The women and men of CBP proceed to work diligently to maintain our Nation and our communities secure.”

U.S. border press officer Kris Grogan says the motive force was interviewed and returned to Canada.
