Queen's University apologizes for sending out admittance letters by mistake


Queen’s College is apologizing for mistakenly sending admission emails to candidates who had not but been accepted.


In a press release, the college in Kingston, Ont. stated emails meant for first-year undergraduate candidates who've obtained a proposal of admission for the autumn of 2022 had been by chance despatched Friday to an inventory of candidates, “nearly all of whom haven't but obtained an admission determination.” Queen’s didn’t say what number of emails had been despatched.


The college stated the error was shortly seen and corrections had been despatched out, providing an apology.


“We perceive the confusion and misery this may increasingly have prompted many candidates and their households, and we sincerely apologize for this error. We're reviewing the incident to make sure there are measures in place to stop this from occurring once more,” the assertion from the college stated.


Queen’s instructed everybody who obtained the faulty welcome letter that a determination on their utility could be delivered no later than Might 20.
