Alberta to announce new steps to ease pressure on ambulance services


The Alberta authorities will reveal the way it plans to ease strain on emergency medical providers within the province.


Well being Minister Jason Copping will make the announcement at 9 a.m. in Sherwood Park, Alta., together with MLAs Tracy Allard and R.J. Sigurdson, who're each members of the Alberta Emergency Medical Providers Advisory Committee.

Wait occasions for an ambulance have been rising throughout the province, with pink alerts being recurrently declared in main cities.


A pink alert is asserted when there aren't any ambulances out there to answer 911 calls.


In March, the province introduced $64 million to get extra ambulances and paramedics on the street.
