Feds aiming to address airport 'bottlenecks' in time for summer travel season


Transport Minister Omar Alghabra says the federal authorities is working with teams on the bottom to resolve air journey “bottlenecks” in time for a busy summer season.


“We're figuring out these areas. For me it's vitally essential that we act rapidly and that we're ready for the summer season season,” he informed CTV Information Channel's Energy Play on Friday.


Alghabra added that the Canadian Air Transport Safety Authority will return to full staffing by the tip of June after recalling an extra 400 staff.


“They’re virtually near full employment,” he mentioned, “They’ll be at full employment, what it was pre-pandemic.”


The information comes amid stories of lengthy traces at airport safety and border screening checkpoints.
