Funeral procession downtown for Sudbury firefighter

Dozens of first responders are anticipated to march downtown in a funeral procession for a Sudbury firefighter Wednesday afternoon.

Mike Norman McHugh Frost died unexpectedly at house on Could 19 at 40 years outdated.

He graduated from the pre-service firefighter schooling and coaching program at Cambrian Faculty, his obituary stated.

Deputy Hearth Chief Jesse Oshell advised CTV Information in a telephone interview he began as a volunteer firefighter in Copper Cliff for a lot of years and was in a position to obtain a full-time place round 2011.

"Mike was, clearly, a particularly valued and vital a part of our firefighting group right here and served with us in a lot of stations, most not too long ago in Val Therese," Oshell stated.

Town will probably be closing down roads inside the procession route. It's planning to depart the Jackson & Barnard Funeral House on Larch Avenue at 1:30 p.m., he added.

The procession will journey north down Paris Avenue to Elm Avenue, turning on the Elm Place mall, travelling west all the way down to Elgin Avenue, the place it's going to flip and journey north towards Beech Avenue to Christ the King Church.

An invite has been prolonged to all firefighters in addition to police and paramedics within the metropolis, Oshell stated.

It's estimated that fifty to 75 first responders will march.

Town stated residents must be ready for the roads alongside the path to be closed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
