Woman arrested for trespassing at Doug Ford campaign stop at Hamilton airport


Hamilton police say they charged a 33-year-old lady with trespassing on Thursday night after a protest towards Progressive Conservative Chief Doug Ford.


Police say a protest fashioned outdoors the John C. Munro Hamilton Worldwide Airport and ultimately moved onto personal property, blocking the highway to a Cargojet facility.


The drive mentioned the protesters had been requested to maneuver off the roadway however one didn't comply and was arrested.


Lawyer Caryma Sa'd mentioned she is the one who was arrested on the airport. She mentioned she had a printed RSVP along with her for the Ford occasion.


"I used to be not a part of any protest group," Sa'd mentioned in an interview. "I made that clear to everybody I spoke with, that I used to be attending the rally merely to doc in my capability as an resident of Ontario."


Police and Sa'd agree that she was moved off the property and launched with a ticket for trespass to property. She mentioned she intends to combat the ticket in court docket.


When reached for remark Ford spokeswoman Ivana Yelich referred inquiries to the Hamilton Police Service.
