Man, 18, arrested in carjacking, two suspects oustanding

Toronto Police have made an arrest made in a armed carjacking investigation.

On Monday, July 4, police were called to the Rathburn Rd. and Islington Avenue area where a 65-year-old man stopped his car and got out.

Police say three masked men then approached and one got into the car and another pointed a gun, demanding the keys.

The third suspect allegedly pushed the victim and the three fled in the vehicle.

Police were able to identify one suspect and he has been arrested.

During the search warrant, police recovered a non-functioning handgun and property taken from the carjacked vehicle.

Diondre Roy, 18, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with robbery with firearm, disguise with intent, fail to comply probation, fail to comply release order, a possession property obtained by crime.

Two suspects remain unidentified. They are described as Black males, about 5-foot-5 with medium builds.
