Dave Gingras-Gaudet, who escaped from a Quebec detention facility last Thursday, was arrested Saturday night while still in the Quebec capital.
The Sûreté du Québec announced in a press release its tactical intervention group had arrested the 37-year-old fugitive at a service station on Seigneurial St. in Quebec City, around 8 p.m. Saturday.
Gingras-Gaudet was handed over to prison authorities and he is expected to appear on Sunday to face various charges, including escaping from legal custody.
Gingras-Gaudet’s escape appeared to aided by two accomplices in the outer courtyard of the jail.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Security at the time of his escape, he was detained “mainly for drug offences.”
