Oregon dad killed in alleged road-rage incident over windshield wiper fluid

A man was fatally shot in an alleged road-rage incident on a state highway in Oregon.

Dennis Anderson, a 45-year-old father of three, was driving home from a road trip with his wife on July 13 in the town of Otis, when he was fatally shot by another driver, Oregon Live reported.

Anderson’s partner, Brandy Goldsbury, told the news outlet that the driver was trying to pass them, and that Anderson had sprayed wiper fluid on his windshield, which may have gotten on the other driver’s car.

The car — identified as a BMW 3 Series — passed. But Goldsbury said they encountered the same vehicle at a rest stop, at which point the driver began tailgating them and driving into oncoming traffic as though it wanted to force them off the road into the forest.

When Anderson pulled over and to call 911, she said the BMW driver stopped his car right next to their vehicle and fired multiple shots at them.

Goldsbury “was physically uninjured, likely due to her husband’s body sheltering her from a spray of bullets,” a GoFundMe page for Anderson said.

Anderson was described as, “A kind and funny man who wanted nothing more than to make others laugh, Brandy describes him as a ‘goofball,’ a committed and dedicated father who loved his children above all else.”

He had two teen daughters and an adult stepson, Oregon Live reported.

The suspect is described by Oregon State Police as “a younger male, less than 25 years old, medium complexion, and small in stature with short dark hair.”
