TTC resumes after fire shuts portion of subway

TTC service on Line 2 resumed Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday at about 7 a.m. a suspected electrical fire at the Bloore-Yonge Station shut down service between St. George and Pape stations.

Shuttle buses were in operation while the subway was down.

“With apologies to our customers for the inconvenience, full service through busy Bloor-Yonge interchange is back,” the TTC said in a statement.

“After Toronto Fire Service put the fire out, we had to clean up and run test trains. Cause is still to be determined. Additional repairs will be done without impacting service further.”
