Lincoln mid-September pulled the covers off of its 2023 Corsair, which adds to last year’s model the ActiveGlide 1.2 hands-free advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) for highway driving, capable of automatic lane-changing, in-lane positioning, and more. The 2023 Corsair marks the first vehicle in the Lincoln lineup to get ADAS features; it will be available for delivery in early 2023.
The automatic lane-change feature allows a driver to change lanes hands-free when the turn signal is tapped. Meanwhile, the predictive speed assist function signals the driver ahead of time when a speed change is about to occur, and helps them adjust to sharp curves.
Other features include in-lane repositioning and intersection assist 2.0, which keeps your car in your lane when driving on the highway and avoids potential collisions when turning at an intersection.
That said, some of the most significant upgrades come in the vehicle’s interior. The tiny 8.0-inch screen in the dashboard has been upgraded to a standard 13.2-inch display. Also included for 2023 is SYNC 4 technology, Amazon Alexa’s built-in hands-free experience, and a 12.3-inch LCD cluster for the driver.
The Corsair’s exterior sees refreshed styling giving it a new face, with wing-shaped daytime running lamps stealing the show. The grille is finished in a sundown satin metallic foil with blue accents, and Corsair comes with new wheel options to boot. Two new interior themes will also be available – Smoked Truffle and Eternal Red – and two exterior colours, Crystal Red and Whisper Blue.
“Evolving the design of the popular Corsair was an exciting challenge, and our team dynamically accomplished this,” said Kemal Curic, global design director, Lincoln. “With the new Corsair, we are offering a glimpse into Lincoln’s new exterior design language and introducing new and more youthful colours and materials that allow our clients to make their vehicle their own.”
The 2023 Corsair is available with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder equipped with 250 horsepower (186 kilowatts) or a 2.5-litre plug-in hybrid with a total output of 266 hp (198 kW). The turbocharged 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder is no longer available, despite strong sales in 2022.
