Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 34-year-old suspect from Blind River with public mischief after it completed an investigation into harassment allegations.
The harassment complaints were made July 12 and the mischief charge was laid Sept. 5.
"On July 12, 2022, police began an investigation into a harassment complaint reported on Birchwood Circle," the OPP said in a news release Wednesday.
"The complainant had reported being harassed by a neighbour. Police viewed numerous security camera videos from both properties in the location where the complainant reported the harassment took place. After an extensive investigation, police determined what the complainant was reporting and what was on the video footage was not consistent. The complainant was subsequently arrested and charged."
This is the second criminal charge related to a neighbour dispute on Birchwood Circle. In December 2021, OPP charged a 39-year-old suspect with mischief and intimidation.
Police said an ATV driver was clearing driveways for neighbours when the accused parked a car sideways to block the ATV driver from plowing.
The accused in the most recent case of mischief is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Oct. 6.
