Universal Orlando Studios in Florida turned out to be universally expensive for one British family and the internet wasn’t having it.
British Marketing expert Miranda Pearce did a TikTok video outlining how she, her husband and their two young sons spent $1,100 on a one-day family outing at the theme park, according to the New York Post.
The clip, which has been viewed more than 1.5 million times, according to Newsweek, which first reported the video, saw them pay $483.66 for tickets plus an additional $396 for Fast passes, which allows visitors to skip the line at some of the rides.
The rest of the expenses included another $62.79 for lunch; $42.60 for souvenirs; $36.39 for dinner; $27 to park their car; $21.79 for breakfast; $19.76 for ice cream: $19.16 for drinks; and $4.25 for coffee.
And to add insult to injury, Pearce wrote: “That’s not even including tips.”
On person commented the family “could have gone away to Portugal for a week and rented a villa for that.”
Another commenter wrote: “(Universal) absolutely fleece(s) their guests.”
And finally another TikTok user said it would be much cheaper to fly to Turkey and stay at an all-inclusive hotel for three nights.
