Cleotha Abston, 38, has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree murder in perpetration of kidnapping.

Memphis homicide detectives say Fletcher — a mother of two young children — was found around 5:07 p.m. on Monday. By that time, investigators already had Abston in custody charged with kidnapping.

The accused killer previously spent 20 years in prison for a previous violent kidnapping. Cops say he refused to reveal the whereabouts of Fletcher after he was busted Saturday.

Among those pointing the finger at Cleotha Abston was his brother who told detectives his sibling was “acting strange” and “scrubbing his clothes” after the kidnapping.

The GMC SUV he was driving was spotted cruising the area for at least 24 minutes before Fletcher passed the area.

CCTV revealed that the suspicious vehicle had pulled ahead of Fletcher when a man emerged running “aggressively towards” her before she was forced into the SUV.

Fletcher’s husband, Richard, alerted police around 7 a.m. that DNA testing of a pair of Champion slides discarded at the scene pointed detectives towards Abston.

Neighbours in Memphis described Abston as a “creep” and “pervert” who frequently tried to pay women for sex, the Commercial Appeal reported.

Even Abston’s uncle, Nathaniel Isaac, stated he was “100% sure” Abston “had something to do with her abduction”.

“My whole f***ing family’s wacky … They always have been,” Isaac told the Daily Mail.

“They’re not beloved to me because they’re nuts. It’s the truth. Go check the police records for the Abstons. You’ll find they’re all perpetrators of something.”
