Hamilton Police say a three-year-old girl has been found dead after she went missing in a conservation area south of Hamilton.
Police were alerted around 6:20 p.m. Saturday that Zahra Ousmane went missing in Binbrook Conservation Area. The child was found at 7:50 p.m. and pronounced dead later at hospital.
Police said Ousmane was visiting Binbrook with a large group before her family realized she was missing. Family members searched the area before contacting police. The girl was found in the water by kayakers.
Police say they do not believe her death is suspicious and are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant video to call 905-546-3843.
