Police need help identifying hit-and-run victim

Police have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run early Monday morning but are having trouble identifying the pedestrian victim.

On Monday, at 4:21 a.m., police were called to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian at Yonge St. and College St.

On Thursday, police identified and arrested the driver.

Abdikdir Mohamed Ibrahim, 30, of Toronto is charged with failure to stop at scene of accident resulting in death and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

The vehicle was seized for further investigation.

Police are struggling to identify the male pedestrian who is described as five-foot-nine, medium build, 172 pounds, with grey and black curly hair.

An artist rendition of the victim has been released by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and Office of the Chief Coroner, and police.

The investigation is ongoing.
