The New York Giants are getting no respect from the sports wagering world.
Despite an impressive 4-1 start and a dramatic rally that saw them outscore the Green Bay Packers 17-2 in the second half of a 27-22 win last Sunday in London, the Giants have dropped to six-point underdogs in their home game this week against the Baltimore Ravens (3-2).
The Ravens opened at -4.5.
The Giants are also 4-1 ATS this season, including a 3-0 ATS record as an underdog.
It looks like New York will become just the third team since 1970 to be at least a five-point home underdog with a 4-1 mark or better heading into Week 6.
That would presumably suit quarterback Daniel Jones just fine, as he has won four straight starts as a home ‘dog.
Maybe bettors are putting stock on the fact teams coming back from London without a week off are 3-4 ATS.
Or that Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson is a career 17-7-2 ATS on the road.
Those that like making live-game wagers should know this: Ravens are 5-0 ATS in the fourth quarter this season.
Also worth noting, brought to our attention by the good folks at BetOnline:
– The Cardinals have not scored a first quarter point this season.
– The Falcons are the only team that has covered every game this season.
– With the Saints 39-32 win over the Seahawks last Sunday, every team has now covered at least one game against the spread.
– The Jaguars have been favoured in just three games since 2020. They were all against the Texans, and Jacksonville lost all three outright.
