Rezvani's 2023 Vengeance is a bullet-resistant 8-seater

Cadillac’s Escalade gets name-dropped in rap songs more than perhaps any other vehicle; for 2023, the full-size SUV towers almost two metres tall (76.7 inches) and over five metres long (211 inches). In short, it’s a rather imposing people-mover with plenty of built-in cachet. But if somehow it doesn’t quite feel like enough, well, now you can upgrade to the newest model from Rezvani—the Vengeance.

The California-based boutique automaker best known for its Jeep-based Tank SUV and Beast sports car is taking its futuristic planes-and-angles aesthetic and wrapping it around the General Motors flagship.

The Vengeance’s Escalade roots are never mentioned explicitly on the company’s website, but the stock Cadillac dashboard and standard 420-hp 6.2-litre V8 – a supercharged version á la Escalade-V or a 277-hp 3.0-litre turbodiesel six are optional, and can drive the rear or all four wheels – are dead giveaways.

And thank goodness for those tells, because the Vengeance does not look like an Escalade. Fibreglass bodywork penned by video game designer Milen Ivanov completely transforms the thing into a post-apocalyptic APC; Rezvani also fits battering-ram steel bumpers, functional air vents, and a windowless hands-free rear liftgate you see through using a camera.

A set of 35-inch off-road tires complete the look, and inside, upgraded leather upholstery ensures the seven to eight passengers are comfortable.

While past Rezvani products boasted a similar militaristic look, the Vengeance goes a step further by offering an actual Military Package, which stuff bullet-resistant armor behind the new coachwork and similarly beefs up the protection offered by the windows. There are run-flat tires, underbody armor, and trick kit like thermal night vision, a smokescreen generator, electrified door handles, and a pepper spray dispenser.

The price for the Vengeance is a cool – or maybe that’s best served cold – US$249,000, with the Military Package upgrades adding another US$95,000 to your bottom line. The company’s website doesn’t include a production timeline, but does note you can put down a non-refundable $1,500 deposit to reserve yours now.
