North Bay fire crews were busy Saturday morning after receiving calls of a structural fire at a residence on Fraser Street.
The home was found by responding firefighters with heavy fire involvement throughout the structure about 3:15 a.m. Crews were forced to attack the fire from the exterior.Fire crews at the scene of a significant house fire at a residence on Fraser Street in North Bay. (Eric Taschner/CTV News Northern Ontario)Once the fire was under control, two searches were performed on the residence to ensure no one was inside.
“No one was injured in the fire; however a pet did perish,” Jason Whiteley, North Bay fire chief, said in an email to CTV News.
The damage to the home is estimated at $250,000.
“The fire is being treated as suspicious,” Whiteley added.
North Bay Fire and North Bay Police are investigating.
