Jets blow lead, drop decision to Bruins

The Winnipeg Jets coughed up a 2-0 lead and dropped a 3-2 decision in Boston, Thursday.

Mark Scheifele, with his team-leading 20th, and Jansen Harkins staked the Jets to a two-goal, first-period lead.

The Bruins tied it with two goals in the second and got the winner from Nick Foligno with 8:52 left in the third, taking advantage of wandering checkers that left Foligno alone in prime scoring position, a mistake the Jets didn’t make often on this night.

The Jets pulled Connor Hellebuyck with nearly two minutes to go and had one last Grade A chance from Kyle Connor, but he couldn’t beat Boston’s No. 2 goalie, Jeremy Swayman.

Hellebuyck returned from illness and four days rest to stop 37 of 40 shots.

David Pastrnak and Jake DeBrusk scored the other Boston goals,

DeBrusk’s on the power play.

The Jets 21-11-1, headed straight for Washington, D.C., after the game, where they’ll take on the Capitals on Friday, their last game before a three-day Christmas break.
