Montreal worker dies after getting stuck in machine used to blow insulation

A man in his 30s died in a workplace accident in Rivière-des-Prairies—Pointe-aux-Trembles borough on Saturday.

The man worked for an insulation company and got stuck in a machine used to blow insulation wool, according to media reports. The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on 48th Ave., near Perras Blvd.

The man was declared dead at the scene, Urgences-Santé operations supervisor Jean-Benoît Gince said. He added ambulance technicians, the police and firefighters arrived around the same time.

Montreal police said the investigation is being handled by the Quebec workplace health and safety commission (CNESST).
