Suspected burglar killed in North York apartment plunge

A man police suspect may have been trying to break into a North York highrise apartment building plunged to his death early Christmas Day.

Toronto Police say the man fell from the apartment unit’s balcony.

Emergency personnel were called around 5:10 a.m. to the building on Antibes Dr. — near the Bathurst St. and Finch Ave. W.

According to police, they received reports that the suspected burglar broke into an apartment and then tried to access an adjoining unit via the balcony.

He is believed to have fallen in the process and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Few details were immediately released and the identity of the victim has not been made public.
