Brooklinen Down Comforter and Classic Duvet Cover review: Cool, comfy and chic

Before I get into the review, note that Brooklinen’s website is listed in USD, not CAD. The company ships to Canada and we connected with the team to ask to get prices listed in our loonie-toonie currency, so it’s on their radar. Brooklinen has also started offering Canadians free shipping, so we’re moving in the right (ultra comfy sleep) direction.

Down Comforter

What can be improved: The care instructions say “spot clean recommended. Dry clean if needed.” I’d like to be able to wash the comforter at home and know that it was tested and recommended by the team who made it.

Recommendation: With sleep, I mean business. Literally. It’s my job to ensure Canadians are having cozy, restful sleep and I’d recommend this cool comforter to most. It’s not vegan, so it’s not for everyone. Also, because it’s not washable, I wouldn’t recommend it for kids.

Classic Duvet Cover

Favourite features: It’s so crisp and cool and fits perfectly with the comforter. As mentioned, I’m a hot sleeper, so I like anything that promotes a cool sleep. It’s easy to slip on and off the comforter, which encourages weekly washing. It’s easy to make the bed in the morning because the cover and comforter are perfectly attached and they’re a nice light pair to toss and gently lay.

What can be improved: I know 100 per cent cotton will wrinkle, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. After washing the cover, Brooklinen suggests laying it flat to dry or tumble dry but removing it five minutes before complete and then laying it out.
