Ekblad has been one of the most consistent shooters on the high-octane Panthers this season. Over his last 15 games, Ekblad is averaging 4.2 shots on goal on 6.6 shot attempts.
Florida visits Chicago tonight. The Blackhawks have allowed 34.8 shots on goal over their last 10 games.
In their last game, the Blackhawks allowed the lowly Detroit Red Wings to put 41 shots on goal. That’s an excellent sign for Ekblad and the Panthers, who average 38.8 shots on goal at home this season.

On the flip side, the Blackhawks have stripped their roster after trading away Patrick Kane and Max Domi. That has opened up opportunities for others, including the speedy Athanasiou.
The winger has been skating on the top power play unit and gets a good matchup tonight against the Panthers.
As good as Florida is offensively, they are lacking when it comes to the penalty kill, currently sitting with the fifth-worst mark in the NHL at 74.1%.
Athanasiou picked up a power play point in Chicago’s last game against Detroit and looks to be one of their triggermen on the man advantage.
There’s some good value here in that number that I won’t pass up.

After he burned us on Tuesday, I’m going back to the Backlund well tonight in the best offensive matchup the NHL has to offer these days: The Anaheim Ducks.
Backlund bounced back from his one-shot performance against Dallas with four against Minnesota the night after.
Tonight, the Flames return home from their mini 2-game road trip to take on a Ducks team that has given up an average of 39.1 shots on goal per game over their last 10, while the Flames, over that same stretch, has averaged 34.6 shots.
Backlund has been a model of consistency, hitting the over on this prop in 11 of his last 13 games.
