NHL Best Bets March 30: Kings crown the Oilers

March 29th recap: Whether we’re running hot or ice cold, we’ll always be transparent here. It was another rough one as Alex Ovechkin and Carter Verhaeghe both mustered a single shot on goal while John Tavares and the Leafs couldn’t get anything going on the power play.

Kevin Fiala Over 0.5 Power Play Points (+260, DraftKings) Wager: 1 unit to win 2.6 units

The #1 and #2 ranked power plays battle tonight when the Kings head to Edmonton to face off against the Oilers.

While the odds on the Oilers PP are juiced (no surprise), there’s some value on the Los Angeles side with Kevin Fiala.

Edmonton’s penalty kill has been consistently near the bottom third of the NHL all season long.

Fiala leads the Kings with 24 power play points on the year.

Vegas has the total for this game at 7, so expect some fireworks, especially on the man advantage.

Moritz Seider Over 2.5 Blocked Shots (+140, DraftKings) Wager: 1 unit to win 1.4 units

The Red Wings square off against the Hurricanes tonight, who lead the NHL in shot attempts per game.

Seider has been playing massive minutes lately, averaging 25:28 over his last five.

He’s averaged 2.4 blocked shots per game on the season.

Detroit should have trouble containing the Carolina attack, giving Seider opportunities to get in front of some pucks.

St. Louis -1.5 (+171, Pinnacle) Wager: 1 unit to win 1.71 units

The Blues have been on a nice run lately, with five wins in their last seven games.

The opposition hasn’t been particularly good, but luckily for them, that won’t change tonight when they visit the lowly Chicago Blackhawks.

Chicago has been terrible recently, losing six straight games by two or more goals.

St. Louis has won two of three meetings against the Blackhawks this year. Both of their wins were by three and two goals, respectively.
