Two charged after gun fired when teens met for 'prearranged' Friday night fight

The incident happened on Friday night near an elementary school. No one was injured.

Officers found two people walking through a park, one of whom was holding a shotgun, police said. They were taken into custody without incident.

A sawed-off shotgun, ammunition and an airsoft gun were seized at the scene, police said.

Based on the investigation, “it appears that two separate parties had agreed on a prearranged altercation,” and when they met, there was a foot chase and a firearm was discharged; no one was injured, the release said

Police allege the person suspected of discharging the firearm had threatened someone with a gun.

A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old face 17 firearms-related charges, including discharging firearm with intent; the 17-year-old is also charged with breach of probation.
