Joni Mitchell removing music from Spotify in solidarity with Neil Young


Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell is eradicating her library of music from Spotify in solidarity with fellow artist Neil Younger, citing "irresponsible folks" sharing misinformation concerning the COVID-19 vaccine on the streaming platform.


Mitchell made the announcement on her web site late Friday evening, writing: "Irresponsible individuals are spreading lies which might be costing folks their lives. I stand in solidarity with Neil Younger and the worldwide scientific and medical communities on this subject."


The Grammy award-winner additionally shared an open letter written by medical professionals across the globe about "The Joe Rogan Expertise," a podcast Spotify bought unique licensing to in 2020 for a reported $100-million deal, based on The Wall Road Journal.
