A gunpowder explosion in Russia's far japanese Khabarovsk area has killed one individual and injured seven others, in keeping with native media reviews.

The explosion reportedly occurred within the gunpowder warehouse of a army unit within the village of Teysin, within the Amur district of the Khabarovsk area, which is situated greater than 6,000 km (3,700 miles) east of Moscow.

"On account of a gunpowder explosion whereas unloading munitions, seven individuals have been injured, they sustained gentle wounds. One individual was killed," an unnamed supply advised Russia's state-run information company TASS.

The supply stated that a hearth broke out following the explosion, and that authorities are at present working to extinguish the blaze.
