Pelee Island Ferry operators ratify new deal


Pelee Island Ferry workers have voted in favour of a new collective settlement.


The three Unifor Native 444 bargaining items ratified the deal. Unit 1 voted 75 per cent in favour, Unit 2 and Unit 3 voted 100 per cent in favour.


“The committee made enhancements over parity in lots of areas reflecting a higher value in our members,” stated a put up from Unifor Native 444.


Ferry operators have been able to stroll off the job on Could 20, however strike motion was paused as they labored on the settlement with Owen Sound Transportation. The strike would have impacted ferry service to and from Pelee Island.


There are 65 Owen Sound Transportation workers represented by Unifor.
