Man charged in trio of Toronto bank robberies

Toronto Police have arrested a man following three bank robberies.

Between Friday, June 24, and Saturday, July 9, there were three robberies that happened in the Fashion District, The Beaches and the Church and Wellesley areas.

Police say in each case a disguised man entered the banks and handed a teller a note demanding a large amount of cash.

In two of the robberies the robber was successful and in one of the robberies he fled with his note.

An investigation identified the man, who was located and arrested on Thursday.

Police say when the man was arrested he was in possession of a pellet handgun, glasses, a wig and a handwritten hold-up note.

A search of the man’s home recovered clothing during the robberies, a note and property used by the man during the alleged robberies.

Brandon McKenna, 45, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with three counts of robbery, and three counts of disguise with intent.
