Kittens have been rescued in the last 10 days from both an ATM machine in Kentucky and a Pepsi vending machine in Tennessee.
The kitten caught in a Walmart soda machine was spotted by an employee and retrieved by firefighters from the city of Morristown, Tenn.
Rescuers posted the feline find on the Morristown Facebook page.
According to People Magazine, emergency services personnel suggested naming the kitten “Pepsi.”
In other cat news, the Fort Smith Fire Department in Arkansas likewise turned to social media with the good word about a kitten rescued from an ATM machine.
That little fur ball has been named Cash by staff at the Fort Smith Animal Haven, where he was taken after being rescued.
A Regions Bank location in Fort Smith made the startling discovery that there was a cat in their money machine last week, calling firefighters for help on Thursday morning.
The cat was safely removed and then taken to the local shelter, but it’s still not known how the animal found his way into the machine.
Alexis Bloom, a vet tech at the shelter, told a local news outlet he thinks Cash was probably looking for shade when he wriggled into the ATM.
Pictures posted to the Fort Smith Fire Department Facebook page show officials dismantling what looks like an outdoor ATM drive-through.
Comments on the Facebook page over Cash’s rescue include many cat burglar jokes and a few name suggestions, including “Moola.”
