'AHL Calgary' faces off Oct. 16

Calgary’s new hockey team has a schedule.

On Thursday, the team currently being called AHL Calgary — formerly the Stockton Heat — announced its full slate of games for the 2022-’23 season, with action kicking off at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Oct. 16 with a game against the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken.

AHL Calgary is the Flames’ top affiliate and will be playing all its games at the Saddledome.

The schedule sees them face off against the Vancouver Canucks’ affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, 12 times and the Bakersfield Condors, the Edmonton Oilers’ farm team, eight times.
