Dog ejected from car alerts trooper to family’s accident

Super dog!

A pet dog that was ejected from a car after it crashed and rolled over was able to alert a Maine state trooper to the accident.

The collision happened last weekend on a section of Interstate 95 near Lincoln, Maine.

The impact sent the dog flying out of the vehicle but it was physically unharmed, able to run to state trooper Chris Pina, who was parked on the highway, and alert him of the rollover crash, according to Maine State Police.

Pina initially thought the mud-covered, scratched-up pooch had escaped and become lost but the trooper then noticed a man on the side of the highway calling for help.

During his investigation, Pina discovered one of the drivers had fallen asleep and rear-ended the other car, causing both vehicles to roll several times.

No injuries were reported in connection to the crash.

Maine State Police reported the vehicle that was hit had a couple and their two dogs, Willow and Bentley, in it and both pets were ejected from the SUV at the time of the crash.

While Willow ended up with Pina, Bentley the Doberman, was missing for a few days until it was recovered after being spotted on a hunting game camera in the area.

“I’m blessed to say we got our boy back!,” Sarah White, one of the owners of the two dogs, wrote on Facebook. “He was so excited to see us and we’re so happy he’s coming home!”
