Two people were killed and a third wounded when gunfire erupted at a Vaughan nightclub early Saturday.
York Regional Police say shots rang out around 3:30 a.m. at the ATL Lounge near Hwy. 7 and Keele St.
“When officers arrived on scene they located three victims with gunshot wounds,” Const. Maniva Armstrong said in a statement released Saturday.
Two men — a 25-year-old and a 22-year-old — were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A third victim, a 20-year-old woman, suffered from “a serious gunshot wound” and is currently recovering in hospital, Armstrong said, adding the shooter, or shooters, fled the scene prior to police arriving.
The shots were reportedly fired from outside into the club, leaving the windows pocked with bullet holes.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area or in the establishment at the time of the shooting to come forward.
Police are also looking for any cellphone video or photos from inside or outside the establishment, security video from the area, or dashcam video from vehicles travelling on roadways in the area at the time.
“This investigation is ongoing,” Armstrong said.
