Two injured after dump truck collides with TTC streetcar

A collision Tuesday morning between a dump truck and a TTC streetcar sent two people to hospital.

The incident happened at St. Clair Ave. and Yonge St. at 7:15 a.m. The dump truck ended up flipped onto its side.

“A dump truck was backing up and hit a streetcar,” Toronto Police Const. Laura Brabant said.

“The dump truck driver and a passenger on the streetcar were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

The eastbound lanes of St. Clair west of Yonge were blocked as crews worked to right and remove the dump truck. Police said the roadway was finally cleared just before noon.
