York Regional Police have recovered the body of a 35-year-old Markham woman in Lake Simcoe after she fell off a water tube.
On Wednesday at 2:50 p.m., police were called to Holmes Point Park, in the area of Holmes Point Rd. and Donna Dr., for a drowning call. When they arrived, officers learned a woman had fallen off a floating tube and submerged in the lake. She was not wearing a life jacket.
At about 4 p.m., police with the help of Air2, police recovered her body.
The coroner identified the woman at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
