A week away in Arizona with Matthews, Marner 'a great time' for Maple Leafs' Bunting

Spending a relaxing week in Arizona can be good for the soul.

For Kosh, a recent trip south with Maple Leafs linemate Mitch Marner accomplished as much, if not more.

Auston Matthews recently invited the pair to come to his off-season home to work out and hang out.

“It was a lot of fun and whatever they say, I dominated in tennis, I just want to say that,” Bunting said on Monday, tongue in cheek. “We had a great time. There was a little bit (of hockey talk), but not as much as you would think. We just tried to enjoy it.

“I’m not going comment on my golf game. We’ll leave that one to the side. I play golf like I play hockey, just gritty.”

The off-ice relationship among the three helped last season, when the trio emerged as one of the top lines in the National Hockey League.

“Hopefully we can keep rolling with that,” Bunting said. “If we’re playing with each other this year, we have to keep building off that chemistry.”
