An alleged impaired driver has put three people in hospital in North York, according to Toronto Police.
A crash in the Bathurst St.-Steeles Ave. area on Sunday at 3:20 a.m. left three hospitalized with serious injuries. One person has been charged with impaired driving.
Const. Laura Brabant said Sunday afternoon that three vehicles were involved in the crash.
“Two vehicles were involved in a collision and the occupants and a witness were outside their vehicles exchanging information when they were stuck by a third vehicle,” said Brabant.
“The driver of the third vehicle was arrested for impaired.”
Investigators are seeking any witnesses to contact police at Traffic Services: 416-808-1900.
“Everyone knows that alcohol-impaired driving is one of the leading causes of death on the road,” said Brabant.
“Our goal with education is to have zero incidents like this … You’d think the message would be out there by now, but it still happens.”

Brabant reiterated the serious consequences of impaired driving, even if no accident is involved.
Those nabbed for drunk driving face an immediate licence suspension and vehicle impoundment and all the fees and fines involved in the process — over and above the cost of a lawyer.
And that’s just being charged. It all gets much harsher if there’s a conviction on those charges. A first-time conviction for impaired driving carries penalties which include a one-year licence suspension, a requirement to attend an education or treatment program, and a $550 fine.
